Bella Brodie runs the rule over the Snowdrop – Oakwood’s brand new residential park home…

Oakwood Park and Leisure Homes is a friendly, family-run manufacturer based in Doncaster, with time to spend with its customers applying a bespoke touch where needed. Oakwood also has some fantastic core models in its range – both residential and leisure – ensuring that there’s plenty to choose from.

The company’s latest release is the Snowdrop, a pretty-as-a-picture model that may appear modest at first, then it pushes firmly past expectations to spring a few uplifting surprises.

Accommodation
The main entrance is via an L-shaped hall that has two in-built, full-height cupboards, with a second entrance into the kitchen, separate from the lounge/diner. A family bathroom also sits on the right, with a double bedroom beyond. The master bedroom leads past a walk-in wardrobe and on to a well-sized en suite shower room.

Interior specification
As with many of Oakwood’s homes, there’s a generous level of build specification included as standard, and evidence of experienced craftsmanship. Solid oak doors and brushed chrome light fittings feature as standard throughout, and the overall feeling is of solid quality. The Snowdrop is vaulted in the main living area so has a light, uplifting feel. From a design perspective, there are also eye-catching choices in the flooring and window dressings, ensuring that this is a home that will stay classy without dating.

Lounge/diner
The L-shaped lounge/diner feels really large, and the windows are quite a feature here; built-in boxed bay style to the front and side of the home. That creates display ledges in the lounge, some deeper than others but offering space for owners to add photos and ornaments to make it feel like home straight away.

There’s plenty of room for the three-seater sofa, plus a double and further single armchair, still leaving plenty of clear floor space, so for families who like to gather in numbers, this would work. A modern, suspended pebble effect fire is set on one wall as a focal point and the TV aerial is above although it’s neatly hidden here. The dining table, as shown here, serves four but if owners would prefer a six-seater version the space would easily accommodate it.
