The Savannah is a contemporary new holiday home with modern design and furnishing. Launched by Tingdene at the annual Caravan Extravaganza in Hull, we wanted to bring you a tour of this lovely model as quickly as we could…
The single unit Tingdene Savannah and its twin unit sister the Havana have been on the horizon for a while now in the concept and planning process. We even got an early glimpse of a bespoke Havana at The World of Park and Leisure Homes Show, at Stoneleigh Park, in Warwickshire, in June, but until Hull’s Caravan Extravaganza in September, we hadn’t seen them in their final form, ready to enter the Tingdene range. Side by side, the two homes attracted a lot of attention and positive comments at the show. Both these units sold instantly too, and the order book for both models is fleshing out fast. We’ll be reviewing the Havana soon but, for now, our focus is on the Savannah, which takes inspiration from traditional static caravans in layout, but has more of a lodge feel from a build perspective.
This home combines comfortable lodge living with bright and colourful caravan design. It’s an interesting move from Tingdene, which is undoubtedly innovating and continuing to push forward on the creative front.
SIZE AND LAYOUT
The model shown here is a 42ft x 13 footprint, and follows a static caravan layout to a degree, but with that luxury lodge feel and contemporary styling, too. The lodge boasts an open plan living area comprising a kitchen, diner and lounge. An inner hallway then leads to a family bathroom, twin-bedded second bedroom and the master suite, which has a walk-in wardrobe and en suite shower room. The 40ft x 13 version has a slightly different configuration in the living/dining area, and there’s also a longer 50ft x 14 three bedroom version, which is more like the 42ft x 13, but basically extends by the width of a twin bedroom.
EXTERNAL FEATURES
Built to BS: 3632 residential standards, the Savannah is clad in vinyl Artefoam, which is available in a choice of colours.
The entrances are to the side to the right of a feature window into an apex, and to the front elevation and both are via single, full-length patio doors. At the front these are bordered by matching height strip windows that open on the top half, allowing for plenty of airflow adjustment. There’s an extended overhang above at this end, underlit with spotlights perfect for evenings out on the decking. The windows are ergonomically- designed, internally beaded, uPVC double-glazed windows, so there’s no mistaking the quality of the build specification here.
INTERNAL FEATURES
The living space is open plan with vaulted ceilings, and there are V-groove panelled walls throughout. Here we can see the contemporary, coastal interior, but another woodland theme is also readily available.
As Tingdene Homes welcomes bespoke elements, other themes are available on request, and hard-wearing commercial interior options are available for hire fleet models, too.
