Bella Brodie finds out more about a residential home from Aspire with a fresh and uplifting feel…

Aspire is a name well known for quality and build excellence, and the Wales-based manufacturer is undoubtedly one to watch for its tasteful and innovative designs.

Its lodge range is just jaw-dropping and, on the residential side, its Willowdale park home is a superb model that demonstrates its capability in the bespoke home building stakes. When we first saw this model at the World of Park & Leisure Homes Show, we were blown away by the attention to detail in the tiniest of finishing elements, and that’s why we thought it well worth revisiting in a bit more detail.

The Willowdale was created with the discerning home owner in mind, with a soothing interior colour palette, coupled with modern oak furniture creating a relaxing ambience in every room. A mix of traditional and modern, it successfully refreshes a tried- and-tested layout, delivering that with a completely uplifting feel.

Externally, the invitingly modern façade is just as easy on the eye, with beautiful exterior cladding punctuated by rendered, accent box bay windows and a side entrance dormer creating a covered porch for practicality.

Naturally, this is built to BS: 3632 (2015) and although it is clearly designed for residential use, we can’t help but think that it would probably work well for leisure use too with a few tweaks externally if the potential owner wanted a real home-from-home feel. Aspire offers a choice of cladding colours and options, so you can adapt as appropriate.

LAYOUT AND ACCOMMODATION
From an L-shaped entrance hall, a utility room is the first stop, with the entrance to the kitchen straight ahead. That leads to a dining room and on into the lounge, in a loop back to the hallway, so that’s the traditional layout we’ve already mentioned, delivered in a way that makes it feel modern and uplifting. To the rear, there’s a family bathroom and second double bedroom on one side, and on the other is the master suite, with walk-in wardrobe and en suite shower room. Within the hall, there’s a recessed area for a hall stand and that has a spotlight inset above, perfect for mirror placement, so within the layout, Aspire has thought of everything in the Willowdale.

KITCHEN
In the kitchen every modern appliance you’re likely to need is factored in and, having seen the Aspire showroom, we know that there are several elements you can adapt to your tastes, cooking aspirations and budget if you choose, although we think this model shows a well-thought through selection.

The integrated appliances include: an eye-level built-in oven; tall fridge/freezer; four-burner hob; chimney-style extractor with glass canopy; and a dishwasher. This area is particularly sleek yet there’s a lot of storage built-in, with a huge double-door larder cupboard providing ample storage while sitting flush with the galley space, so it all feels beautifully integrated. The rear door is opposite, so it’s straight in with the shopping and it’s easy to put away with this layout.

Before you leave the space, it’s worth having a look upwards though as the ceilings are vaulted and clad in tongue-and-groove white panelling with recessed ceiling spotlights, and a feature oak beam running through the home that puts in a characterful appearance here.

There is even a separate utility room with a sink, washer-dryer and a Worcester-Bosch combi-boiler and ample storage cupboards, so it’s a practical, well thought through layout. That’s on the right as you come through the front door, so it’s another great space to drop anything you need to such as shopping or boots while keeping the rest of the home clean.
