In a bid to support the spread of awareness around rising sea levels, Cornish holiday home operator, Park Leisure, has donated £3,000 to the Time and Tide Bell project.
This national art project draws awareness to the climate crisis by installing a 1.7m tall bell, cast in bronze, on shores across the UK. Designed by Marcus Vergette, in collaboration with Dr Neil McLachlan, the bell is designed to ring during a high tide, bringing much needed attention to the gradual rise of sea levels due to climate change.
Par Beach, which is located a few minutes away from the Par Sands Coastal Holiday Park, has been chosen as the only bell site in Cornwall where the bell will be housed on the rocks at the western end of the beach. The donation will go towards the installation and upkeep of the bell.
Michelle Pickett, general manager at Par Sands, said: ‘We are thrilled to be supporting this incredible cause.’
