A husband-and-wife park manager team received an award for exceptional service from their local MP in October last year.
Ralph and Hazel Jacklin, of Fell View Park, in Cumbria, were presented with the award by MP Trudy Harrison during a special visit to the Gosforth-based site.
The award is the highest honour given by trade body the British Holiday and Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) to park staff who have made ‘significant and substantial’ contributions to their businesses.
Ralph and Hazel are responsible for the day-to-day running of Fell View Park which provides outstanding views of the Lakeland fells and surrounding countryside.
The business is part of the family-run Berkeleyparks group of residential parks.
The couple have been with the company for more than 25 years, and two of their sons also work with Berkeleyparks in the south of England.
At the award presentation ceremony, Ralph and Hazel were congratulated both by Trudy Harrison MP and by David Curson, managing director of Berkeleyparks.
David said: ‘We rely heavily on our managers to help our residents enjoy their lifestyles, and to sustain the mutually supportive atmosphere which our parks provide.
‘Ralph and Hazel are always prepared to go the extra mile to give whatever assistance is needed, and to make sure that the park offers a first-class living environment.
‘We’re very grateful that Trudy Harrison was able to take time out to congratulate the couple and give her good wishes to two highly valued members of our team,” he added. Fell View Park has 85 privately-owned park homes in its landscaped grounds where people in or near retirement can enjoy peaceful and well-managed surroundings.
