As we went to press, Wessex was gearing up to exhibit at the Grand Designs Live show at London’s Excel centre.
Wessex will make its debut at the popular event, which takes place from 5 to 13 May, displaying the beautiful, pet-friendly, Allure luxury lodge.
Based on the Channel 4 television series and presented by Kevin McCloud, Grand Designs Live offers visitors expert advice, new product launches, specialist exhibitors in six different zones and much more.
The Allure, which is built to BS: 3632 residential standard like all Wessex’s lodges, looks set to wow the London crowds.
It is the perfect, cosy home that can accommodate all of the family, including the four-legged, furry ones!
The striking exterior seen here is clad in beautiful larch and benefits from a split-level roofline, feature lighting, full-height windows and two sets of bi-fold doors.
Inside, there’s a boot seat by the country-style door, plenty of storage and there’s also a dog shower/boot-wash space.
The spacious, open plan living space, with its white-panelled, vaulted ceilings, is wonderfully warm and cosy. The snug, which benefits from extensive feature glazing and includes a comfy love seat, provides a great space to snuggle down. Through into the lounge and there’s a comfortable sofa and two cosy armchairs. Here, two sets of bi-fold doors allow natural light to flood in, a fantastic feature.
The kitchen, which includes a full array of integrated appliances, provides the perfect space to rustle up a feast and includes a large walk-in larder. A central workspace between the kitchen and dining area, with hob and island extractor, not only provides practicality, but also creates a sociable environment. Next to the kitchen, a country-style extending dining table is over-lit by a designer box pendant light, creating a lovely relaxed space to while away the hours over a hearty meal and a glass of wine or two.
In the master bedroom, waxed oak furniture creates a lovely homely feel and full-height windows make this a room with a view. Through into the luxurious en suite there’s not only a bath, but a shower too, and a beautiful vanity unit with counter-top basin adds style and sophistication.
The second bedroom with white-painted twin beds is equally luxurious and the family shower room, which sits opposite, includes a large walk-in shower with overhead soaker.
