Less can be more
While the original was very definitely aimed at the holiday market this new version also has the feel of a holiday lodge but one you could live in if you choose to. That’s because this Gîte has much simpler lines and is less fussy in the interior design and furnishings, so while one style will appeal to some the simpler look will appeal to others. It’s still a very high quality luxury lodge which oozes charm and rustic appeal, just in a subtler way perhaps. The introduction of this version with a contemporary twist ensures there’s something for everyone now.
External features
This impressive 45ft x 22 Gîte has certainly been very well received already, reminiscent as it is of a Brittany longhouse. Its exterior remains true to the original iconic form with tall, slender roof dormers, window shutters to three sides and large bespoke French casement style windows.
Although it’s available in a range of claddings, the external and internal wall material and colouring caught our eye in Smartside cladding material in a pretty shade of grey specifically prepared for this model.
You could almost be walking into it from a French vineyard such is the feel, so it’s equally as charming as its predecessor. All I’d suggest is first stopping off to bring a basket with you, complete with baguette, red wine and Brie to enjoy it in the way it deserves to be enjoyed!
