It was in 1986 that Omar first launched a home called the Sandringham and at that time it was a single unit home (10ft wide but a massive 50ft long). How times have changed. Over the years there have been many revisions in the look of this particular model with a twin unit version now being standard, and the latest – a 40ft x 20 layout - was exhibited to popular acclaim at both the Newbury and Stoneleigh exhibitions this spring. What makes the Sandringham such a distinctive and popular model? Firstly, its unusual exterior look with French doors on the front wall (leading from the dining area) extending forwards, with the possibility of creating a patio area outside. Although such an arrangement is more often seen in lodge-style accommodation, this layout obviously has plenty of benefits, including the opportunity for diners to have drinks before their meal or coffee afterwards ‘out on the terrace’. Curved windows adjacent to these French doors make the dining area very light – and bays on the front and side walls of the lounge add to this airy and bright feeling.

Exterior

Double French doors and a curved front window give a distinctive appearance to the front view of the Sandringham, but the main entrance door is more conventional, on the side wall under a cross gable roof, and with glazed panels either side to let more light into the hall. Mock pillars feature around the door, too, with a porch light to one side.

The exterior is in roughcast finish with the gable end above the main entrance in white uPVC finish with LED downlighters. Corner quoins lend a bungalow appearance.

The high pitch roof is by Metrotile and the tiles are guaranteed for 40 years.
Doors and windows are framed in white uPVC and have Georgian-style glazing bars. The bay windows on the side wall are very deep (in keeping with the one at the front) and they have tiled canopies.

Another exterior door is on the opposite side from the main entrance, leading out from the kitchen.
