Exterior
The exterior of the Contemporary is nothing if not minimalist. It features a simple, straightforward rectangular box shape with a flat, concealed roof sealed with a one-piece membrane which drains to the rear.
There is an extensive glazed area at the front set back within an extra-wide porch with integrated decking and downlighters in the overhang above. The porch extends across a full three-quarters of the front wall.
Two more full-height panes of glass (one, a rear door) are inset into the rear wall with their own micro-porch plus downlighters. But the rest of the windows in this lodge are all mini versions designed more to let some daylight in rather than provide a view out. Externally, door and window frames are in slate-grey uPVC; all double glazed, of course.
Glazing apart, the whole exterior is timber clad in 28mm pine planks from – surprise, surprise – Finland. It all looks very Scandinavian, clean cut and simple.

SIZE: The 40ft x 22 two-bedroom version is
reviewed here. Other standard sizes are: 36ft x 14 (two bedrooms), 40ft x 22 with three bedrooms and 45ft x 22 (four bedrooms). Other options are available on request.
