Lounge
The living area (lounge, diner and kitchen) is in an open plan arrangement at the front of the Thorverton, with the lounge and dining area at the front and the kitchen behind.
The huge expanse of windows and glazed doors on the front wall gives a light and airy atmosphere and the white boarded vaulted ceiling and bright, modern fabrics add to this. The carpet is in a light beige (and this is used throughout the home, apart from the kitchen and bathroom areas which have vinyl floor covering).
Curtains hang full length to the front window in two pairs (one pair in the lounge and the other in the dining area).
They are in a geometric pattern of brown, gold and grey ovals on a white background. The same fabric is used for Austrian blinds which hang at the side window, between the diner and kitchen, and on the opposite side, at the far end of the lounge.
The lounge suite comprises two sofas – a two-seater and a three-seater – both upholstered in a dark brown leather-look fabric. Some of the scatter cushions are covered in the same fabric as the curtains; others are in the same colourway but in a leaf pattern.
A coffee table, in a rich medium wood finish, has a bottom shelf and matches the wood and style of the dining table.
The side wall in the lounge is a feature, in a clay-coloured finish. The other walls are white. A wall-hung fire (coal effect in a white surround) is positioned here. A flat-screen television can be fitted on the wall above – all the necessary connections are in place.
Pendant ceiling lights with dark brown drum-shaped shades hang over the lounge and also above the dining table.
