editors blogIt is with great pleasure that I can finally reveal PH&HC’s annual Park of the Year. Warm congratulations must go to Pant Mawr, in Harlech, North Wales, for scooping the prestigious accolade.

The park’s owner and manager, Neil Collis, truly deserves this honour for his unstinting hard work and dedication to his residents. His park is a unique development, boasting a prime location in the Snowdonia National Park. But it’s not just a park’s management and propitious setting that makes it a worthy champion. The most important factor, in my view, is the level of resident satisfaction. At Pant Mawr – as the jubilant scenes from our presentation party on page eight show – the level is extremely high.

Scores of residents told us why their park should lift our trophy. We eventually decided that the founders of the park’s social club, Chris and Roy Wildgoose, should take the £500 prize, donated by competition sponsors Towergate Insurance (the company also generously contributed a further £500 to the park upon being crowned champion). Chris and Roy penned a great letter, detailing the extraordinary breadth of activities their club has enjoyed since it was set up in 2011. The couple also said: ‘Our park owner Neil Collis is outstanding. He not only keeps the park in beautiful condition but also updates us on legislation, helps with any problems, keeps in contact with everybody on the park and especially joins in with social events.’

I couldn’t have put it better myself! Well done again to Neil and all the residents at Pant Mawr.

Enjoy the issue!
