july blog‘Best ever’ event!

As we went to press, the annual Stoneleigh Show drew to a close. There were thousands at this year’s World of Park and Leisure Homes Show, at Stoneleigh Park, in Warwickshire (read a full review in next month’s issue). I was really impressed with the look and feel of the event. For that, a word of thanks should go to the show’s organisers, Jo and Pat Turner, from MPM Events. It’s no small undertaking to co-ordinate Europe’s biggest mobile home get-together and the company did a sensational job. Our new Best Park Home and Lodge of the Show Competition also attracted much attention. Showgoers voted for a wide number of the 40 homes on display. The winning park home was the Prestige Traditions, built in collaboration with Birch’s Park Homes. The top lodge title went to Pathfinder’s Belle Maison, which we review on page 42 of this issue. The new Titans Turner and the Prestige Grand Symphony were runners up in the park home category and the Omar Apex and the Tingdene Escape in the lodge section. Many visitors told me they considered this year’s event to be the best ever! So, if you’re a potential exhibitor mulling over whether to book some space at next year’s event, I’d recommend calling Jo or Pat Turner now on 01789 491451.

On another note, former PH&HC editor Anne Webb celebrated 40 years in the industry at this year’s show and also announced her retirement. I’d like to thank Anne for all her hard work over the past five decades – both on the magazine and fighting for residents’ rights. Well done Anne – you’ll be missed!
