april blogThe park and holiday home world, like most others, ebbs and flows just like the seasons. As we enter springtime and throw off the shackles of a bitterly cold winter, our industry is well and truly into a new season of its own – show season.

The huge success of the Caravan and Motorhome Show at Manchester’s Event City heralded in a busy period of events earlier this year. At that event, there were more than 200 exhibitors, along with all the big names from the mobile home world.

Before we had time to draw breath and take in all the new homes, new park developments and new interior trends from Manchester, more elite events leapt from our calendars like demented frogs, excited by the return of spring!

To reflect that, in our April issue, we bring you in-depth reviews of the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show from Birmingham’s NEC, the Scottish Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Show from the SECC in Glasgow, as well as a sneak preview of the National Motorhome Show, which takes place in Peterborough this April, and will feature holiday homes and park homes on top of the obligatory motorhomes. Turn to page 30 where the fun really begins!

All this feverish show-based activity is sure to nicely whet your appetite for the big one – June’s upcoming World of Park and Leisure Home Show, our industry’s showpiece event, which opens its doors at Stoneleigh Park, in Warwickshire, on 11 June. Look out for a special Stoneleigh Show edition later in the year!

But it’s not just shows and events that feature prominently in your April issue. We’ve also got some ‘classic’ new homes under review – the Tingdene Hayden Classic and the Wessex Classic. Having stepped inside both dazzling units, I’m sure both creations will eventually go down as classics in their own right (page 36).

On the park front, we visit some lovely residential sites in Nottinghamshire, Lancashire and Berkshire, as well previewing some big changes at the Lifestyle Living Group (see page 10). We also travel to Cornwall and find out what a family-of-three make of Piran Meadows, a sumptuous new holiday park with a raft of activities to enjoy (page 104).
