Having a ball at Waterfoot Park on Ullswater where Lake District Estates aims to please dogs and their owners at a stroke

A Cumbria holiday parks group which puts pooches on a pedestal has been nominated for four top honours in the Dog Friendly Awards 2023.

Lake District Estates, say the award organisers, has earned its place in the finals bey demonstrating that it operates some of the most Fido-friendly parks in Britain.

Their facilities include a complimentary doggy gift pack on arrival, a supplied dog bed, wooden dog door gates, and guides to nearby dog-friendly walking trails and places to visit.

Now the parks group must wait until the end of November this year to see if their parks have triumphed in the awards which are decided by a public vote.

The glittering awards ceremony will take place at the Kennel Club headquarters in London.

Hoping to romp home in the awards is Woodclose Park in Kirkby Lonsdale with its dog-welcoming glamping facilities and a dedicated “dog park” for lead-free exercising.

Also in the running is Hill of Oaks Caravan and Lodge Park on the shores of Windermere which provides a range of luxury properties accepting four-legged friends.

Further north in Cumbria and also with picture-perfect lake views is Waterfoot Park on Ullswater near Pooley Bridge which also promises to get tails wagging.

Finally, Tewitfield Marina near Carnforth aims to take the lead with its selection of self-catering apartments and stone-built cottages, all boasting the Rex Factor..

In addition to its seven top-rated holiday parks in Cumbria and Lancashire, Lakes District Estates also operates the popular Ullswater “Steamers” and the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.
