october blogYou don’t always associate the mobile home lifestyle with celebrities. Over the years, I have heard of various soap stars and footballers owning holiday homes and lodges at exclusive UK locations. But aside from running into Olympic gold medal winning heptathlete Denise Lewis at the 2013 World of Park & Leisure Homes Show and witnessing Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker cut the ribbon to unveil a brand new Tingdene home in the same year, ‘sightings’ have been few and far between.Until this month that is…

Like London buses, you wait ages for a park home-related celeb spot and then three come along at once! Firstly, we had Olympic swimming sensations Rebecca Adlington and Steve Parry’s appearance at Acresfield Park, in Lancashire. Rebecca and Steve made a splash with the park’s residents and owners by opening a state-of-the-art new leisure complex earlier in the year. Read the full story on page 24.

As if that wasn’t enough, former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett entertained the lucky residents of Pant Mawr, in Harlech, Wales, at a party to celebrate American Independence Day (page 80). For me, impromptu parties like that typify the park home experience. Full of easy-going, fun people, ready to kick back and enjoy a good time, no matter what the occasion! Celebrities Rebecca and the two Steves have unique talents that catch the eye. Similarly, the park home lifestyle is both singular and memorable and I’m sure these three famous faces recognised that!

There’s plenty more to enjoy in your October issue, too. Among the highlights, we’ve got great new home reviews on models from Country Homes, Tingdene and Pathfinder (page 34). There is also legal help and advice from the Leasehold Advisory Service (page 75). With real life stories, refurb tips and park profiles, you’re spoilt for choice this month!

Enjoy the issue!
