AugBlogShow Success!

In the weeks following this year’s hugely successful World of Park & Leisure Homes Show, there has been a real buzz around the park home world. The 2012 event, held at Stoneleigh Park, in Warwickshire, attracted thousands of visitors and all the big names from our industry. As well as getting the chance to see more than 30 new homes, show goers also met industry representatives from a raft of different areas. Don’t miss our review of the best homes on show and the rest of the highlights on page 56.There seems to be a new wave of positivity in the wake of this year’s event. Many visitors told me that, after a couple of years of uncertainty, they are now ready to take the plunge and buy a park home. I was also encouraged by the feedback from our industry. There was defi nitely an upbeat feel and many spoke of increased sales and full order books. A big ‘thank you’ must go to organisers, Pat and Jo Turner, of MPM Events, who put on a brilliant show. (Incidentally, exhibitors who would like to book a stand early for next year’s event, which is sure to be just as good, should call Pat or Jo on 01789 491451.)

Part of this positivity may have something to do with the Government’s new-found determination to improve conditions for the park home community. On page 80, Sonia McColl, a long-time park home campaigner, urges residents to back Peter Aldous, MP, who is taking forward a Private Member’s Bill for park homes, which could condemn dodgy practices like sale blocking to the past.Enjoy the issue: there’s a really upbeat feeling in the park home world right now. It’s a great time to join the community.
