An expat couple who were living in New Zealand bought their dream park home at a rural Mid Wales park without ever having seen either of them before.
Philip and Vicky Dinham used Google Earth, Google Maps and plenty of internet research to pinpoint Berkeleyparks’ Caerwnon Park, in Builth Wells. They also fell in love with Omar’s Elevdon Cottage after viewing the manufacturer’s website.

The couple then entrusted Philip’s brother and wife with visiting the Welsh park and talking to staff and residents. Caerwnon’s park manager Kerry was also extremely helpful, sending lots of photographs by email to New Zealsnd.

Philip explained: ‘We’d never been to the park or seen the plot before and we’d never set foot in a park home.’

However, after doing their research they were really impressed, noting that comparable brick-built properties in the area cost double the price of their chosen home. The Dinhams moved into their brand-new Omar Elveden last year and are loving life at Caerwnon Park. Philip added: ‘Everybody is so friendly and welcoming, always ready to stop for a chat. I think we got to know the names of everybody’s dogs before the people!

‘Life is now much more relaxed. It’s a different pace of life and we love it.’

Despite not previously spending much time in Mid Wales, the location suits the couple well. Builth Wells sits at a crossroads for lots of different parts of Wales and the west of England, while the park is also within striking distance of both Philip’s brother in south Wales and Vicky’s brother in Coventry.

Berkeleyparks currently has two show homes available on Caerwnon Park, as well as a number of plots for prospective buyers site the home of their choice.
