At the top of its game when it comes to running high quality holiday parks, family-run company Holgates, based in Lancashire, is celebrating a clean sweep of five-star AA assessments across all of its parks in north Lancashire and Cumbria.

Its flagship park, Holgates Silverdale, was also awarded the five-pennant platinum rating – the highest possible award for caravan and camping sites in the UK.

It becomes the only holiday park in Lancashire to hold the sought-after accolade.

This new elite title is awarded to five-star parks with a quality score of 95 per cent and above; essentially, only those demonstrating exceptionally high standards.

In addition, Holgates Bay View Holiday Park in Bolton-le-Sands received five stars for the first time. Bay View has undergone recent investment with a new development of holiday homes overlooking Morecambe Bay, and has opened a new dog-friendly bar to cater for the growing number of owners and holidaymakers taking their faithful friends away with them.

Speaking about the awards, owner Michael Holgate enthused: ‘It’s a real group effort and a great achievement for everyone involved at Holgates that we’ve had a clean sweep of 5-stars across our parks this year.’
