Continued strong demand for mobile home parks sees Kingsdown Mobile Home Park, in Swindon, bought up…
International real estate advisor Savills has completed the sale of Kingsdown Mobile Home Park, a village park near Swindon.
The sale provided purchasers with a rare opportunity to acquire the park, which had been in the ownership of Mr TB Large for approximately 40 years.
Kingsdown Mobile Home Park was purchased by a private individual, who secured the property for a price in excess of the guide of £1.2 million following strong interest in the opportunity.
Set across just over two acres in the village of Stratton St Margaret, the park benefits from a site licence for 41 residential pitches, 40 of which have been developed to provide 30 single and 10 twin units.
It is also adjacent to a Woodlands Trust beauty spot and within half a mile of a garden centre, supermarket and other essential local amenities. Kay Griffiths, associate director in the leisure and trade team at Savills Oxford, said: ‘The sale of Kingsdown Mobile Home Park generated strong interest from both existing operators and new investors looking to enter the mobile home park market.
‘We continue to see good appetite from investors in this sector, which provides both a good return on investment and is regarded as being reasonably recession proof. Savills has a database of investors looking to acquire parks similar to Kingsdown and we expect this trend to continue in 2021.’
