We find out why residents at a Staffordshire park never want to live anywhere else…

Residents at a park in one of Staffordshire’s most picturesque villages say they wouldn’t ever want to call anywhere else home. Among the things they can’t get enough of are the stunning views and how quiet the place is.

Home Farm Park, in Rolleston, is a sleepy residential development close to Dove and is home to 35 park homes with planning permission for up to 50. Homes are a mixture of privately owned and rented, with many boasting well tended gardens. While prices for brand new homes can be as much as £200,000, equivalent prices for brick-built properties in the area can be double this. Most have one or two bedrooms but some have three.

One resident is even former East Staffordshire mayor, Beryl Toon, who is a serving borough councillor for the ward of Rolleston-on-Dove. She said: ‘There are no issues here. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I mean, look at the views, it is no different from living in a bungalow.

‘I just love living here.’

Another resident who has nothing but good things to say about Home Farm Park is Timothy Joyce. Timothy has lived on the site for almost a decade.

He said: ‘It’s quiet here and nobody bothers you. I just stay in and read and avoid people, to be honest.’
Ces Whitside has lived on the park for 12 years and said the views are the main draw. Ces said: ‘It is just the most beautiful spot.

I wouldn’t leave. I’d only leave it in a box. I’ve been here for 12 years and it is great. You don’t get a better view than that in Staffordshire.’

Tom O’Donnell lives with his family and said the community is the best aspect. Tom explained: ‘It’s great being here. It’s quiet and a really nice community. I love it!’
