Bella Brodie reviews a refreshingly versatile holiday home from Pemberton

The Marlow is one of Pemberton’s most popular models, and that may be down to the flexibility it gives potential owners. There are plenty of sizes to choose from, and while the front section stays pretty much the same throughout the range, the layout obviously changes according to the number of bedrooms needed. That’s usually pretty obvious in any range, but with the Marlow what comes with that is a variety of options for storage, particularly to the master suite, and they completely change the way the rear of this model feels.

The one-bedroom version has masses of storage space, so that would be particularly appealing to a couple who want to use their getaway without hosting further family or friends, and it also has a bath which may tempt a few buyers. The other configurations we particularly like are the 40ft x 13, and the new 42ft x 13 two bedroom model, as the dressing area in all of these is more open than a walk-in wardrobe, making the floor space feel like part of the overall footprint of the bedroom suite. That makes it feel much more spacious than many contemporary models.

Open-plan layout
The open-plan layout to the front features a central dining area, with the option of adding a side French door. The lounge boasts sleek, low-level furniture and chunky shelving which adds great character, while also creating a minimalistic, contemporary look. Teal is the accent colour in the design, and we can really imagine ourselves chilling out to watch some good TV, socialise or read in this zone as there is room to stretch out on the sofas.  In the kitchen the storage has been just as well thought through and the vibe is uplifting and airy, with white Shaker-style doors on the cupboards, a spacious countertop, and an integrated microwave. Optional upgrades include an accessory pack with cushions and throws, additional kitchen appliances, and a lift-up storage bed for the master bedroom.

Our verdict
Overall, the Marlow has plenty of pleasing points that make it stand out in a crowded holiday home marketplace, and we think the spacious feel will keep it a step ahead of similarly-priced competitors. With many tempting models at keen prices in the Pemberton range, they are a brand that should be on any buyer’s shortlist right now.
