Canexel cladding is also used to line the integral porch which adds a very distinctive appearance to the home.
The main entrance door is white, half glazed and leads into a carpeted entrance hall where there is a double door cloaks cupboard on the left and a radiator on the right.
Carpet here, and throughout the home, is an attractive colour which is probably best described as taupe. However, in keeping with the policy of most manufacturers, Tingdene offers its clients a huge colour and style choice in furnishings, furniture and décor.
Dining room
A door on the right leads into the dining room where a rectangular table in a light wood finish is positioned centrally. Four chairs are provided, all with padded seats and backrests upholstered in a brown leather-look material.
Décor in this room is very attractive with the walls above a dado rail in light grey finish and those below in taupe.
Against the back wall there is a unit, in the same wood as the table, which has two shelves at the top, a drawer and open cubby hole space below and a double door base cupboard.
Full length lined curtains are in a shiny fabric with a leaf pattern in silver grey on a white background.
A three-branch pendant light hangs from the vaulted ceiling above the dining table.
This is the only room in the Barnwell that feels somewhat cramped. This is possibly because it is a thoroughfare from the main entrance to the kitchen and lounge and the dining table projects a little into that ‘corridor’ space. A smaller, or possibly an oval table might be better.
