The first all-electric holiday home in East Anglia has been unveiled at a luxury park.
The Willerby All-E Dorchester model, which offers sustainable staycations for eco-conscious holidaymakers, has been sited at picturesque Pinewoods Holiday Park, at Wells-next-the-Sea, on the North Norfolk coast.
Willerby launched its pioneering All-E all-electric holiday home specification last September and models are now being located at parks across the UK.
Pinewoods is part of the Holkham estate, which has a commitment to become carbon negative by 2040, and the new Willerby All-E addition is an integral part of the journey.
Called the e-Lakeside Luxe, the eco holiday home is currently the only one of its kind in East Anglia and represents a significant step forward in Pinewoods’ ambition.
Developed by Willerby’s in-house technical and product development teams, Willerby All-E was launched at the Great Holiday Home Show in Harrogate.
The innovation is a green game-changer for the industry, reducing reliance on gas and addressing the significant challenge of switching to cleaner and greener energy when electricity supply to holiday parks is limited, with most pitches capped to a maximum 32-amp supply.
The Willerby All-E system uses intelligent technology to monitor and optimise electricity usage at all times, to avoid the supply being exceeded.
Willerby Business Development Manager Gemma Pudsey said: “We’re proud to have one of our all-electric models at Pinewoods, which is one of the most luxurious holiday parks in the whole of East Anglia.
“This is the first Willerby All-E in the region and we’re delighted it’s sited at Pinewoods – a park that shares our commitment to sustainability.
“We’re now seeing our Willerby All-E models being rolled out at parks across the country, as operators embrace the opportunity to enhance their holiday parks and make them more environmentally friendly.”
The e-Lakeside Luxe is one of the most luxurious and spacious holiday homes at Pinewoods.
It offers two bedrooms and sleeps up to six people, with an open-plan living room and modern kitchen space, a master bedroom boasting a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.
Situated in a newly developed and beautifully landscaped area of the park, in close proximity to Wells beach, it features a generous wrap-around deck overlooking a lake.
There is an electric vehicle charger on an allocated hard standing parking bay, where up to two cars can be parked, as well as an electric barbeque.
Introducing the Willerby All-E model is the latest in a series of sustainability investments at Pinewoods.
Measures at the dog-friendly park include cycle hire and an electric bus linking the park to the beach and town, to reduce the number of journeys visitors make by car, and electric charging points across the site.
Pinewoods’ excellent location between the pine topped sand dunes of Wells beach, Holkham National Nature Reserve and the historic port of Wells-next-the-Sea make it the ideal place for a North Norfolk holiday.
Darren Williams, General Manager at Pinewoods, said: “One of the biggest challenges we faced on our journey to move away from a reliance on fossil fuels as a source of heating and hot water provision, in order to achieve our ambition of being carbon negative by 2040, was finding a solution that could be supported by the existing electrical infrastructure.
“Willerby has done exactly that with the All-E, which can replace existing gas-powered holiday homes on parks across the UK.
“We’re absolutely delighted to now be able to offer a fossil fuel-free holiday here at Pinewoods in the e-Lakeside Luxe, which will undoubtedly be extremely popular with our guests.”
