Flower power has helped a Lakeland holiday parks group to scoop five floral accolades in the 2023 Cumbria in Bloom awards.
Lake District Estates, said competition judges, had fully earned their prize certificates thanks to the stunning displays created in their grounds for visitors.
The family-run parks group was among the hundreds of businesses and communities from across the region which took part in this year’s competition.
The awards were made after Cumbria in Bloom judges made inspections at each of the parks, assessing the plantings across a range of criteria including their environmental value.
Announced as winners were Hill of Oaks Park and Newby Bridge Country Caravan Park, both near the shores on Windermere in South Cumbria.
Honours also went to Waterfoot Park near Pooley Bridge, Woodclose Park near Kirkby Lonsdale, and to Clea Hall Holiday Park near Wigton.
There was a Cumbria in Bloom award too for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, owned by Lake District Estates and one of Cumbria’s top visitor attractions.
The group said that it has long been keen supporters of Cumbria in Bloom, and the way in which the competition inspires communities to come together.
