Durham deal

Durham dealThe specialist holiday parks team of agent Colliers International has just sold two high quality parks in County Durham, namely Kingfisher and Heatherview Country Parks, near Stanhope in the Wear Valley. These parks boast a combined total of 439 holiday home pitches and have planning permission in place to develop further. The vendors, Park Leisure 2000, acquired the parks in 1999 and have sold to the expanding Verdant Leisure for an undisclosed sum.

‘Holiday parks of this size, quality and trading record rarely become available to acquire and it was no surprise that they fitted the criteria of a progressive operator such as Verdant,’ said Richard Moss, head of Colliers International’s parks team, who advised Park Leisure on the sale.

He added,‘The demand for quality parks remains high and we are delighted to have brokered a discreet deal between two excellent companies.’

Happy hampers!

Happy hampers!Visitors to the Paul Baker Insurance Services stand at the World of Park & Leisure Homes Show were invited to enter a prize draw to win a superb luxury hamper.

The lucky winners were Stephen and Heather Philpott, seen here receiving the hamper from Paul Baker.

Stephen and Heather are in the process of purchasing their first park home at The Beeches, near Minchinhampton, in Gloucestershire, and are really looking forward to moving in shortly.

They have bought an almost new pre-owned home on this lovely rural park so the hamper was a fabulous way to celebrate their purchase and the start of their new lifestyle. We wish them every success with the move and every happiness in their new home!

£3m Extension to Tingdene’s production facilities

£3m Extension to Tingdene’s production facilitiesPlanning permission has been granted for Tingdene to forge ahead with a £3m extension to its production facilities at its HQ in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

Tingdene Homes manufactures residential park homes and holiday lodges and currently employs more than 200 staff.
The £3m extension is due for completion in 2017 with opportunities being created for around 40 new members of staff across the many production disciplines, stores and offices to join its dedicated workforce.

Once complete, the works are aimed at improving efficiencies and increasing productivity with two production lines, instead of the current one.

This will increase output, which will be a major bonus for Tingdene’s client base, as it will effectively shorten the lead time for the products which are in high demand.

Nick Burgess, sales and marketing director, commented: ‘We have seen a big increase and interest in holiday lodges over the last few years from some major players and also from key new developments.

‘All the indicators are that this will continue to grow over the forthcoming years in line with the desire for families to own their own holiday home and parks to develop their hire fleet as the staycation market continues to expand in the UK.

‘The extension is not just about increasing production, it is also set to become a state-of-the-art factory that will set itself apart from others within the industry.

‘The new factory and associated stores and offices will also ensure quality efficiencies of build and continual improvement of the working conditions, both of which are something that the business is dedicated to providing.’

Should you wish to find out more about Tingdene’s range of park homes and holiday lodges, please visit or telephone the company on 01933 230130.
